The Ladies @ Home “Royal weekend”, sponsored by Rair boutique, started on Saturday when 26 of them played against members and a touring group of soldiers from the UK. The day started with a fantastic champagne brunch or a full English breakfast followed by a closely contested betterball matchplay. Dawie Hattingh and our chairman Jan Labuschagne got into the spirit of the ladies’ weekend by both dressing in their skirts but, for some reason, both said it badly affected their stance and ability to swing throughthe ball. 

The ladies obviously suffered no such problems as they were the winners of thecmatch Ladies-100 and Men-94. The welcome back Pimms was much appreciated on what was a hot and sticky day on the course.

Sunday brought 120 ladies to play in the Pezula Ladies at Home day. All of the Pezula ladies (and a couple of the husbands) went out of their way to make home made cakes, savouries and scones and, as there were hardly any left, we assume that they were delicious. More Pimms was served with the High tea and the ladies not only donated a selection of items for the Dorothy Broster Childrens’ home but also raised R13 000 for them through the raffle.
